Biography:
Michael Hogan served as a trial lawyer for over 25 years primarily in the areas of medical malpractice and other professional liability. An adjunct professor at Marquette Law School, he has taught trial advocacy for more than ten years. He is certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy as a Civil Trial Specialist. He serves on the State Bar Ethics Board.
He began his legal career as an assistant professor of law and legal counsel at Marquette University. After two and a half years in the State Public Defender’s office, he worked at Riordan, Crivello and Carlson. For 17 years he was the managing attorney for the Milwaukee trial attorneys’office for St. Paul Insurance and St. Paul Travelers. He is presently the director of the Faber Center for Ignatian Spirituality at Marquette. He trained in mediation at Hamline University and practices mediation privately. He served recently as the hearing examiner for highly publicized allegations of ethics violations against the Chairman of the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors.
