Biography:
Matthew J. Parlow comes to Marquette following three years on the faculty of Chapman University School of Law and one year at Whittier Law School.  He holds a J.D. from Yale Law School, where he was an editor of the Yale Law and Policy Review and the Yale Journal on Regulation, and a B.A. from Loyola Marymount University.

Professor Parlow’s scholarship focuses on local government law, land use, urban redevelopment, and sports law.  His articles have appeared in the University of Colorado Law Review, Denver University Law Review, Santa Clara Law Review, Virginia Journal of Social Policy and the Law, and Boston College Environmental Affairs Law Review, among other journals.  In 2007-08, he was voted Professor of the Year at Chapman.

Prior to his academic career, Professor Parlow was an associate with the Los Angeles firm of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, specializing in real estate, land use, environmental, and local/state government law.  He also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Pamela Ann Rymer of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
