Course Description: This course covers the basic conceptual and substantive divisions in divorce and adoption law. Topics covered include fault and no-fault divorce, financial consequences of divorce, custody, common law and statutory rules for adoption, termination of parental rights, ethical and policy issues in family law, and interviewing and counseling the family law client.
Assignments & Notices: There is no reading assignment for the first meeting of the course.
Required Texts for this class: Assigned readings for the course are collected in a xerox reading packet. Packets may be purchased for cost at the beginning of the semester in room 340.
