WORK
We all work. In fact, most of our lives are spent working. While the way we work, the place we work, and impact of work on our lives may differ, the environment we work in and around affects us all.
PEOPLE
Because people spend so much time working, it’s no surprise that labor and employment law, by nature, is a business about people. From the concerned business owner that needs help with benefits plan selection to the wrongfully discharged worker who needs to know what his rights are, labor and employment law offers a wide variety of contexts where people need professional assistance.
MARQUETTE LABOR & EMPLOYMENT LAW SOCIETY
Marquette LELS encourages law students to pursue a career in labor and employment law. We work to inspire and educate the next generation of competent passionate labor and employment practitioners to address the conflicts that arise in the course of employment. From Title VII claims to ERISA questions, the scope of employment issues is broad, and the number in need is large.
Marquette Labor & Employment Law Society is open to all Marquette Law students and provides a variety of resources to aid students in their opportunities, including lectures, guest speakers, professional mixers, team and writing competitions, international travel programs, and other opportunities for academic enrichment.
