Marquette University Law School has partnered with e2Campus on an emergency text messaging and email notification system that is capable of sending text messages instantly and simultaneously to all students and employees who register their mobile devices or preferred email address. These messages can also be added to your Google, Yahoo, AOL, or Windows Live home page as an RSS feed. These notifications will apply to class cancellations, cancellations due to weather, delays, and emergency situations.
PLEASE REGISTER WITH e2Campus NOW - it only takes a minute. This will be the surest way for you to receive emergency notifications critical to your safety and well-being.
How to Get Started
- Test Your Cell Phone for SMS Text Messages
- In the box/module labeled e2Campus Emergency Notification Registration, fill in the required information. Your Marquette Law School website username information will be pre-populated once you log into the site to register. We allow you to set your password.
- Near the bottom of the form set your opt-out date and agree to the Terms of Service
- Click "Create Account."
- You should receive an SMS test message on your phone that will provide you with a four-digit number to use in the next e2Campus window. Fill in the number, then click "Validate Mobile Phone."
- A new page should indicate that you have successfully registered.
- Click "Log in", then use the username and password you just created.
- Click on the "Services" tab to add your e-mail address and/or other notification options. Go to e2campus to update or delete your account.
Categories Include:- All class cancellations - you will be notified each time any law school class is cancelled.
- Closings/delays due to weather - you will be notified if the University closes due to weather or if any major student-related law school event is cancelled or delayed due to weather.
- Individual class cancellations - you will be notified of a class cancellation ONLY of those classes which you select for the current semester. We expect that you will select the classes in which you are currently enrolled. You MUST CHECK THE APPROPRIATE BOX in the list of classes.
Please note that all who register with the e2Campus system will receive text message alerts regarding incidents endangering safety: fire, bomb threats, tornado/severe weather warnings, threatening individuals, etc. While hoping that we will never need to send such an alert, we will be prepared to do so if necessary.
Monthly tests of the system might be conducted, and will be announced in the law news bundle. If you have any trouble with the registration process, or learn that you are not receiving the monthly test messages, please contact Dax Phillips at dax.phillips@marquette.edu.
