The Marquette University Law Library is a legal research facility with a primary mission of serving the students and faculty of the Marquette University Law School. The Library also serves other members of the Marquette University community, members of the Bar, and persons needing to perform legal research.

CIRCULATION PRIVILEGES
Treatises
Single volume treatises are loaned for two weeks to all Marquette University students. They may be renewed for an additional two-week period if another patron does not request them. Loose-leaf materials and multi-volume sets do not circulate.
Reserve Materials
The loan period for all Reserve materials is two hours. Items may be renewed for an additional two hours if they have not been requested by another patron. Reserve materials do not circulate outside the Library.
Fines and Overdue Materials - Fines are charged for all items that are not returned on time. Patrons with overdue items may not renew books or check out other materials until the overdue materials are returned and the fines are paid. Unpaid bills are turned over to the Bursar's Office.
Periodicals
Bound volumes of periodicals, as well as unbound current issues, are located on the Upper Level and are shelved in alphabetical order. These do not circulate outside the Library.
Damaged and Lost Materials
Students are responsible for all materials checked out to them. Bills for damaged material may include the cost of repair, the replacement cost and/or any applicable fine.
OTHER LIBRARY POLICIES
- Drinks should be in covered containers. If you bring snacks or drinks into the Library, please leave the table or carrel clean for the next library user.
- Patrons are asked to reshelve the materials they use.
- Please step outside the Library when using your cell phone.
- The Library is a place for research and study, not a place for group discussions.
- Computer labs are reserved for law students only.
