The Academic Support Program (ASP) is designed to help students achieve success in many ways. First, ASP provides additional classroom instruction taught by upper-class students (ASP Leaders) who help clarify material discussed in each of the first-year classes. Second, ASP provides workshops coordinated by the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, the Director of Student Affairs, professors, and ASP Leaders in which they work to build skills that will help students be successful in class, examinations, and other assignments. Finally, ASP offers students individual meetings during which they have the opportunity to discuss learning habits, study challenges, and other personal matters that affect academic success. The goals of ASP are to provide an understanding of material delivered in class, effective study habits, and strategies that maximize the prospects for academic success.
