What makes a law school great?
It’s not easy to choose a law school. Like most prospective students, I considered many factors. Among them: What do other people say?
One of the ways I found the answer was to walk into the Marquette Law Library and start talking to students there. Unscripted and unprepared, my “study subjects” praised Marquette Law School’s programs and faculty, and the opportunities to actually apply legal theory as well as learn it. In fact, the only concern I remember hearing was the age of the facilities — and while I don’t judge a book by its cover, I have to admit that I agree. It’s important to have a state-of-the-art place to offer a state-of-the-art education.
In my two years at Marquette Law School, I have come to appreciate everything I learned in those impromptu conversations in the library — the quality of the professors, tremendous curricular offerings, peers who offer opportunities to serve the community, and challenging ways to build valuable skills. And I’ve come to recognize personally the need for Eckstein Hall — the new home for Marquette University Law School.
That’s why… I am helping to build the New Marquette University Law School. Eckstein Hall will set the standard for law school construction. It will put Marquette students at the cutting edge. It will enhance our Law School’s reputation — along with the value of our degrees.
When I saw Eckstein Hall rising, I wanted to be part of it. So I decided to make my own gift to support its construction. It was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up — to support my law school… your law school… a great law school.
I hope you’ll agree. Please join me.
