The Aitken Reading Room

The ambiance of the Aitken Reading Room will attest to the name of this grand space on the third floor of Eckstein Hall.  The welcoming environment of the 1,348 square-foot drawing room not only will attract students, faculty, and visitors alike, but also will most appropriately facilitate quiet study and reflection.

From the majestic heights of a two-story ceiling and the grandeur of a centrally located, natural fireplace, to expansive windows offering an impressive vista of downtown Milwaukee—this serene place will exude classic, aesthetically pleasing elements to complement the bold dynamism of the Law School.  Speaking to the cerebral senses, the Aitken Reading Room will feature walls of built-in bookcases with shelf-after-shelf of legal literature; soft seating as well as traditional library tables and chairs to invite exploration of the scholarly volumes; and a most convenient location immediately adjacent to the Eckstein Library’s third floor resources and services.

The Aitken Reading Room is designed to be a masterpiece within the masterpiece that will be Eckstein Hall.
