Alan will add enormous value to your already distinguished academic unit and enrich the University community more broadly with the significant contributions he will invariably make. As a quick point of information, your readers may not know that Alan was the first recipient of our Education Advocacy award last spring. The award is given in the College of Education as part of our Mission Recognition Evening. We felt that the important work Alan has done covering the Milwaukee education landscape clearly merited the honor. It could routinely be characterized as timely, insightful, and professionally rendered. Please know that our fond hope is to strengthen our existing ties with the Law School even further through Alan's appointment.
