Unfortunately, I must confess that my first association with the term "bullying" is the movie "A Christmas Story," with its whimsical treatment of a young boy defeating a bully. One of the difficulties with taking bullying seriously in our culture is a long line of movies and television shows that treat bullying as a normal rite of passage for boys -- which, of course, should not be the case.
