Margaret W. Hickey practices in the areas of divorce, family law, and elder law including trusts for the disabled, title 19 and guardianship.  She  received her B.A. from Marquette University (1982, summa cum laude), where she was Phi Beta Kappa, and her J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School (1986,  cum laude).  She is named in the Best Lawyers in America for family and elder law and has been named as a “Super Lawyer,” one of the top 25 women lawyers in the state and a “Woman in the Law 2011.”

Megann M. Senfleben is an associate attorney with the law firm of Becker, Hickey and Poster, S.C., Milwaukee, and practices family law, estate planning and elder law. She is also a certified family law mediator and collaborative family law attorney.  She has co-authored an article in the Wisconsin Journal of Family Law and is a coeditor of the Medicaid Chapter of Advising Older Clients and their Families.  She received her B.A. in communication from Saint Louis University in 2007 and her J.D. from Marquette University Law School in 2010.

Presenter: Mont L. Martin has been serving as trustee in Wis. Stats. 5128.21 proceedings since 1994, helping to pioneer the resurgence in the use of the statute to help debt-burdened individuals looking for an alternative to bankruptcy.  Mr. Martin's office has a statewide presence and reputation for competently discharging the responsibilities of these judicial  appointments while being fair-minded and attentive to the needs of creditors and debtors alike.  Mr. Martin is also the managing partner for the law firm of Wiernick, Martin & Neumaier.  S.C., He has practiced personal injury and consumer bankruptcy law since 1983, after graduating from Marquette Law School in 1982.  He is admitted in the state of Wisconsin circuit courts. And the Eastern and Western Districts Courts of Wisconsin. He is a long-standing, active member of the Wisconsin State Bar Association and the Milwaukee Bar Association, where he has lectured. He is also a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. He is active in the Volunteer Lawyer Project of Legal Action of Wisconsin and has served on the boards of community organizations, including Family Service of Waukesha and Aurora Family Service.  Mr. Martin is married and has two children.

The presenter will be Attorney Gwendolyn Connolly. Gwen focuses her practice on family law and consumer fraud litigation. As a consumer protection lawyer, she assists individuals who have been victims of fraud. She helps those who have been harmed in the purchase of automobiles, home improvement scams and other financial frauds, including predatory lending claims. As a family law attorney, she assists clients through the divorce process, and with post judgment issues. She is also an experienced collaborative family law attorney. Her family law practice also includes custody and financial mediation. She is Treasurer of the State Bar of Wisconsin and President of the AWL Foundation, Inc. She past-Chair of the state-wide organization, the Collaborative Family Law Council of Wisconsin. Ms. Connolly is a frequent speaker and author, and serves on various professional and civic boards. In 2007, the Wisconsin Law Journal recognized her among the top Women in the Law, while the Association for Women Lawyers awarded her the Mentoring Award in 2006. The State Bar of Wisconsin has recognized her with the President's Award.

    The presenter will be Davorin J. Odrcic. Mr. Odrcic is an attorney with Erich C Straub Immigration Attorney, LLC, concentrating in family-based immigration and deportation defense. He has been a licensed attorney since 2001. Mr. Odrcic has successfully litigated dozens of cases before the Immigration Court, the Board of Immigration Appeals, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals as well as Circuit Courts throughout the state of Wisconsin.
    Issues to be addressed in this presentation:
    • Defining "undocumented immigrant"
    • Explaining the general avenues an undocumented person has to legalize status under current immigration law
    • A special emphasis on family-based immigration since that is the principal route for most undocumented immigrants
    • Explaining 'cancellation of removal' in Immigration Court (or removal proceedings)
    • Wisconsin driver's license lawwho is eligible?
    • Miscellaneous issues that frequently occur at the MVLC clinics such as immigration questions related to worker's compensation, identity theft, concerns about showing up to the court, and ethical issues arising from such questions.

    The presenters will be Eric Jernberg and Karin Long. Eric Jernberg has been working with housing and rental issues facing low income renters for over twenty years. He is currently employed as a Housing Advocate at Community Advocates in Milwaukee. Karin A. Long coordinates the nationally recognized, City of Milwaukee Landlord Training Program, Keeping Illegal and Destructive Activity Out of Rental Property. Ms. Long has personally trained over 19,000 landlords and property managers, representing over 350,000 rental units throughout Wisconsin. Ms. Long helped facilitate the National Train the Trainer Program, which assisted other cities in creating a Landlord Training Program for their areas.     Real Estate Foreclosures & Predatory Lending Presenter: Attorney Catherine M. Doyle, Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee, Inc. Attorney Catherine M. Doyle is Chief Staff Attorney with Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee, Inc. She is the lead attorney for the A-LINE Project (Advocacy for Low-Income Neighborhood Equity) of Legal Aid Society. A-LINE provides legal advice and direct representation to low income persons who are the victims of predatory mortgage lending practices. Ms. Doyle is a 1973 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School. Prior to joining the Legal Aid Society in 1996, she was with the private law firm of McCarty, Lenz & Doyle, S.C., Milwaukee, WI where she specialized in real estate, tax, estate planning and probate. In recognition her work on predatory mortgage lending issues, Ms. Doyle was a 2006 recipient of the Leader in the Law Award from the Wisconsin Law Journal and in 2007 was named Legal Professional of the Year by Wisconsin Builder.

He is a graduate of the Wisconsin Military Academy, Wisconsin State Patrol Academy, and the Milwaukee Police Academy. He is experienced in many aspects of fire department services and law enforcement activities. He has worked for the City of Milwaukee as a police officer, an Assistant City Attorney and a legal advisor for two Milwaukee police chiefs and two Milwaukee fire chiefs. In November 2007 he was appointed Executive Director of the Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission by Mayor Tom Barrett and the Milwaukee Common Council. Beth Conradson Cleary is a graduate of Marquette University Law School. She has practiced as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Milwaukee since 2006. Prior to working at the City, she served as Marquette Law School's Public Service Administrator. Ms. Conradson Cleary is a member of the League of Wisconsin Municipalities, Association of Municipal Attorneys, the MVLC Steering Committee, and the Coalition for Access to Legal Resources in Southeastern Wisconsin. James A. Gramling received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
