Services, Hours & Locations

The Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinics provide brief legal advice and referral services on most civil legal matters at the locations and times listed below.  Services are rendered on a first come, first served basis and no legal advice is given by telephone or email.  For more detailed information about the scope of our services, you may review our Explanation of Clinic Services. Please bring all written communications and documents pertaining to your legal question.

The Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinics are able to provide brief assistance on most civil matters.  However, some legal matters are beyond the scope of our services. We do not provide brief legal advice on matters including, but not limited to:

  • Criminal matters (misdemeanors and felonies)
  • Employment discrimination issues
  • Questions related to public school independent education plans
  • Issues related to Marquette University
  • Any complex matter not well suited for brief legal advice as decided by the volunteer attorney or supervising staff

This clinic serves veterans and active duty service members.

Services are available in English and Spanish.  An immigration attorney is available for consultation at this location.  A representative from Milwaukee County Child Support Services is generally available on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Wednesdays from 5:30-7:00 p.m.

A housing specificalist is available to help with landlord/tenant matters on Thursdays from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.  However, all volunteer attorneys have the ability to handle landlord/tenant matters if you cannot attend from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
