On Thursday, November 3rd, beginning at 12:15 pm on Microsoft Teams, the Sports Law Program presents a Sports Law Speaker Series discussion on opportunities within collegiate athletics working outside of a collegiate athletics department.  After our discussion of NIL and the changing landscape of collegiate athletics, our alum Keith Miller was talking with several students about what he does now, and he offered to come back to talk about that and answer questions from students in the Sports Law Program.  Keith will be joined by a former classmate, Matt Banker, who also has left a collegiate athletic department, but still works in the college athletics space.  Matt will also be joining us to teach an NIL workshop next spring as part of the sports law curriculum.  Others may join as well.  This will be an informal discussion on Teams to highlight the many ways future lawyers could become involved in college athletics without going into a college athletics department.  The discussion will feature -

  • Matthew Banker, class of 2001, Founder & Principal, MB Sports Consulting & advisor, Sports Law Section of Church Church Hiddle & Antrim, Louisville, Kentucky,
  • Alexis Henderson Barlow, class of 2010, Chief Operating Officer, Student Athlete NIL, Wesley Chapel, Florida, and
  • Keith Miller, class of 2001Vice President, Influxer, Corpus Christi, Texas

Sign up soon and you will receive the Teams reservation the morning of the event.
