Legal mistakes can undermine startups. In this presentation, offered in conjunction with Milwaukee Startup Week, Professor Hammons will discuss best practices when forming and launching a new business venture. Topics will include (1) selecting an optimal business entity (LLC or corporation); (2) structuring founders’ equity; (3) developing and protecting intellectual property; (4) seed financing considerations; and (5) how to find and work with a good startup attorney.
