Carol Dufek serves as the Events Coordinator for the Law School. Try to imagine being responsible for the welfare, comfort, and general happiness of over 700 law students, 100 plus full-time and adjunct faculty, several dozen librarians, administrators, and support staff in addition to the greater Marquette and Milwaukee community, who enter Eckstein Hall at any time of the day or evening seven days a week and you will have a good idea of what Carol does for so many others.
With the opening of Eckstein Hall in the fall of 2010, Carol has become the main point of contact for the many people who inquire about holding events in Eckstein Hall. In addition to taking inquiries from the greater Marquette and Milwaukee community, Carol is involved with the many Law School programs, supporting conferences, guest speaker programs, and reunion activities while maintaining an active role in New Student Orientation and Graduation events. It should come as no surprise that Carol enthusiastically declares the best part of her job is the chance to work with students and alumni.
Starting in 1990, Carol has been providing service to students, first as a member of the housing staff in the University's Office of Residence Life and, since 1999, in her position with the Law School. She has chaired the University's Committee on Staff and volunteers frequently for all-University athletic and mission-related events as well as serving on many all-University committees. She received the 2006 Excellence in University Service Award, one of only two support staff employees annually awarded. Carol graduated from Marquette's College of Professional Studies in 2006, received a Masters of Arts in Public Service in 2009 along with a Certification in Dispute Resolution. In her time away from the Law School, Carol is busy with family and community activities.
