 Partner at Quarles & Brady, LLC; Experienced in drafting and prosecuting chemical and biotechnological patent applications and patentability and infringement opinions. Member: State Bar of Wisconsin, elected board member of Intellectual Property Section, 2000-present; elected Vice-Chairman 2002-2003, to be Chairman 2003-2004; Wisconsin Intellectual Property Law Association (Secretary-Treasurer, 1995-1997; President, 1997-1998). Technical background includes practical experience in molecular biology, microbiology and chemistry. Jeannie has special expertise in the fields of transgenic micro-organisms, plants, and animals and recombinant DNA techniques, including production and use of modified proteins. She has drafted and prosecuted many patent applications drawn to nucleic acid assays and detection methods and to model systems for drug testing. Because of specific client portfolios, she has drafted and prosecuted portfolios of multiple patents involving biofilms, blood chemistry, paper pulping methods and use of micro-arrays.
