Biography

Neuman (“Larry”) Leverett is Vice President &  Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer at Johnson Controls. Under his leadership, the Compliance Team is responsible for, among others, the Company’s enterprise risk management, anti-corruption, antitrust, investigations, education, and data privacy programs. Before joining Johnson Controls, Larry was a partner in a law firm in Philadelphia, PA, practicing in the firm’s White Collar Litigation and Investigations Practice Group. Before joining the firm, he was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Philadelphia, where he prosecuted dozens of complex federal criminal cases, and tried ten criminal cases to jury verdict. Larry has served as an adjunct professor for several years at Temple University Beasley School of Law and University of Pennsylvania Law School.

Earlier in his legal career, Larry worked at an international law firm in New York City, and was a Law Clerk to Judge Cynthia M. Rufe, Eastern District of Pennsylvania and Chief Judge Theodore A. McKee, Third Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia. Prior to law school, he was a high school English teacher.
