John Novotny has been with Marquette University's department of University Advancement since September 1995. Prior to joining the Law School on June 1, 2005, John served as the Director of Corporate Relations since March 1998. Earlier, he served as Senior Advancement Officer to the College of Business Administration and the Graduate School. Additionally, John oversaw foundation relations and acted in a liaison role with the dean of the College of Professional Studies. Before coming to Marquette, John worked in development for the Channel 10/36 Friends. John graduated magna cum laude from Marquette's College of Arts and Sciences in 1981 and earned his master's degree in history in 1983. John is married to Therese and, together, they have six children.
Extra Curricular: He remains active in St. Mary's Visitation Parish in Elm Grove and other civic and volunteer organizations including the Alpha Sigma Nu Danihy Club Alumni Board, the Executive Committee of the Peter Favre Forum, Marquette's Committee on Administrators and the newly formed Mission Council. In addition, John served on the Marquette University High School Alumni Board from 1996 to 2001 and as the United Way of Greater Milwaukee, Education Sector Co-Chair in 1999.
