John presently serves as the Assistant Dean for Development for Marquette University Law School. John has worked in University Advancement – the development arm for Marquette – in various roles since 1995. His association with the Law School began in 2005 when assigned to partner with Deans Joseph D. Kearney and Christine Wilczynski-Vogel in the historic strategic fundraising effort resulting in both the construction of Ray and Kay Eckstein Hall and tripling the size of its endowment. Today, John is responsible for developing fundraising strategies specifically designed for the benefit the Law School in coordination with the university’s central administration. Additionally, John oversees with the university’s Principal Gift team.
Previously, John worked for Milwaukee Public Television and in advertising. A double alumnus of Marquette University, he holds both a B.A. from its College of Arts and Sciences in 1981 (magna cum laude, alpha sigma nu, phi beta kappa) as well as an M.A. in History in 1983. John has been recognized for excellence in service to Marquette University (2017) and to Marquette University High School (2015).
