The conference fee is $400 if paid by Sunday, May 26, and $450 after that date. The fee covers all sessions and events, including the opening reception, gala dinner with brewery tour, continental breakfasts, two lunches, ice cream social, Summerfest tickets, and transportation to and from the conference hotel or dorm and all events. You may register and pay for the conference by filling out the form below.
(Please note that the registration fee is nonrefundable. ALWD will, however, make exceptions to this rule and grant a partial refund of payment (total amount paid minus $75) if the registrant applied for employer reimbursement, but nonetheless spent his or her own money for the registration fee, and an unforeseeable event prevents the registrant from attending.)
If you wish to bring guests to either the Thursday Night Gala Dinner or the Friday Night Summerfest Outing, additional fees are as follows:
- Gala Dinner: $30 per adult guest, $15 per child guest (age 5-12), under 5 free
- Brewery Tour (during Gala Dinner): $7 per person
- Summerfest: $14 per ticket (note that tickets are available for children 10 and under at the gate for $5)
We have arranged for rooms to be available at the Marquette dorms, Straz Tower, at the following rates:
- Single Occupancy: $49.00,
- Double Occupancy: $70.00 ($35 per person),
- Quad Occupancy $85.00 ($21.25/person).

There are also rooms available at The Hilton Milwaukee City Center at a rate of $149 plus 15.1% tax on Wednesday and Thursday nights. To receive this preferred rate, you must book by Sunday, May 26. Make reservations by calling (414) 935-5940. Mention that you are with the Association of Legal Writing Directors. Note there are no rooms available at this hotel on Friday night.
If you plan to stay until Saturday and prefer not to stay at the dorm, we have arranged another hotel option. The Doubletree by Hilton is across the street from the Hilton Milwaukee City Center. Rooms are available there on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights at the rate of $169 plus tax. To make a reservation, please call (414) 273-2950 and say that you are with the Association of Legal Writing Directors.
Go Riteway provides shuttle service between Milwaukee’s General Mitchell International Airport and Marquette University or the Hilton. Cost is $14 one way or $27 round trip if you reserve in advance.
We will provide a free shuttle to and from the dorms/hotel, law school, and special events throughout the conference.
