Facing problems with its underground water supply, Waukesha is now looking to Lake Michigan to meet its future water needs. The city, which lies in a county that straddles the Great Lakes Basin, is seeking to divert an average of 10 million gallons a day from Lake Michigan. But to do so, it will need approval from the Department of Natural Resources and all eight Great Lakes States. What impact would the diversion have on Waukesha County, Milwaukee, and Racine? How would it affect Lake Michigan and the Root River, where treated wastewater would be returned? Find out when Waukesha Mayor Shawn Reilly and Racine Mayor John Dickert join us at Eckstein Hall.
