The 3L Bucket List

I had every intention to make my first blog posting something legitimate, legally substantive, and professional. But then my moot court brief was due; I fell behind on all my readings; and Miley Cyrus was on SNL. While watching my girl Miley on SNL I was able to stop and appreciate the chaos that is my life as 3L. Miley does whatever she wants, whenever she wants, and that freedom is something I greatly envy at this juncture of my life. Despite doing things that are somewhat controversial, Miley is making the most of her life and she is having a great time doing it. So it got me thinking: before I know it law school will be over. Despite all the chaos, there are a lot of things I want to accomplish before I graduate. I really want to make the most of my remaining months as a law student and have a great time doing it. So I compiled a list of things I would like to accomplish before I graduate in May. Without further ado, here is my 3L bucket list:

• Be student blogger of the month – check

• CALI a class (watch out Federal Courts)

• Surpass 10,000 Westlaw and Lexis points

• Get Miley Cyrus to re-tweet me

• Eat everything off the Tory Hill menu

• Make the Dean’s List (watch out Federal Courts)

• Introduce myself to every professor (in progress)

• Win a moot court competition

• Go to a non-basketball Marquette sporting event

• Make it a semester without injuring myself (the least likely on this list)

• Go to a Packers game

• Kick an undergrad off the 3rd or 4th floor on the weekend

• Get nap cots installed throughout the building

• Get a class photo of the class of 2014 hung in the building

• Actually be able to park at Eckstein in the morning

• Go a day without spending money at Tory Hill

• Ride the wrecking ball that was involved in tearing down part of Sensenbrenner Hall

• Win a co-ed intramural soccer championship

• Go a full week without skipping a class or skipping a reading

• See an oral argument before the Wisconsin Supreme Court

• See an oral argument before the Seventh Circuit

• Spend the night in the law school

• Win a writing competition

• Get a Buzzfeed article posted

• Make the 2014 Jenkins Moot Court Competition the best EVER!

• GET…A…JOB!!!

Your bucket list contains two goals that are in conflict:

    1) Eat everything off the Tory Hill menu

    and

    2) Go a day without spending money at Tory Hill

I wish you luck in achieving the last one on the list.

    Regards,

Brittany, your list omits one item that can now be retroactively added and checked: speak at the commencement ceremony, and do a brilliant job.

Congratulations and best of luck to you and your classmates!
