\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>This year’s 26th Annual Howard B. Eisenberg Do-Gooders Auction to benefit Marquette’s Public Interest Law Society (PILS)\u00a0will take place on February 15, 2019 at Marquette Law School.\u00a0 Here is a link to details about the event.<\/a>\u00a0 Attendees may purchase tickets online and check out items<\/a> that will be auctioned.\u00a0 The theme this year is Game On!\u00a0 The proceeds from the auction go to support scholarships for Marquette law students to engage in public interest work\u00a0during the summer.\u00a0\u00a0 This is an interview with 2Ls Charles Bowen and Alexander Sterling, who are\u00a0Co-Vice Presidents of Solicitation\u00a0for the Auction this year.\u00a0 Charles had a PILS Fellowship last summer with the ACLU of Wisconsin.<\/p>\n

What is the Do-Gooders Auction?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is the main fundraiser of the PILS Program, raising money to fund PILS Fellowships for law students interested in summer internships at nonprofit or government agencies that cannot afford to pay their interns. You can earn up to $5,000 for the summer.<\/p>\n

How does the Auction support these Fellowships?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every single dollar earned from the event goes toward the fellowships.\u00a0We have\u00a0a silent auction\u00a0where you\u00a0can bid on items<\/a>, and games you can play\u00a0to win great prizes. This year there\u2019s even a roulette table. So the money people spend playing games and having fun actually goes towards helping students. It\u2019s a two for one.<\/p>\n

Why should\u00a0we\u00a0attend the Auction?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Because it\u2019s a great time! This year the auction is carnival\/game themed. Not only\u00a0do you have\u00a0a plethora of opportunities to take home a prize from the silent auction,\u00a0you’ll\u00a0also be able to play many games. Games from last year\u2019s Auction–such as the cupcake game, where you\u2019re guaranteed a delicious cupcake and a gift card, and the wine toss, where you\u2019ll have a chance to win a wonderful bottle of wine–will still be present this year.<\/p>\n

We\u00a0also have\u00a0excellent food. There\u2019s a build your own slider bar.\u00a0A build your own candy bar table, plus Hot Dawgs. And there will be quesadillas . . .<\/p>\n

And of course everyone gets two drink tickets.<\/p>\n

That sounds great. Any new editions to the Auction this year?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are featuring new games such as air hockey, roulette, shuffle board, and connect four that give players a chance to collect tickets, which can be turned in for prizes depending on the number of tickets you win.<\/p>\n

Wow.\u00a0This sounds like an incredible time.<\/strong><\/p>\n
