href=\"https:\/\/law.marquette.edu\/facultyblog\/2020\/10\/sanity-maintenance-a-guide-to-surviving-october\/\">recent tips<\/a> on the Faculty Blog about how law students and law professors might survive the problems and stress of the pandemic.\u00a0 However, the thrust of the tips seemed to be that we just have to get through or move past the actual and symbolic October of our lives.\u00a0 Poets, by contrast, have over the years been more inclined to say we should savor October and stretch it out in our consciousness.<\/p>\n<p>Printed below is what the poet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.poetryfoundation.org\/poets\/robert-frost\">Robert Frost<\/a> had to say about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.poetryfoundation.org\/poems\/53084\/october-56d23212a5b72\">October<\/a>.\u00a0 The grapes mentioned in the final lines, I think, are all of us.\u00a0 We could be richer in mind and spirit if October lasted as long as possible.\u00a0 With \u201chearts not averse to being beguiled,\u201d we could better take on the challenges life has thrown our way.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">October<br \/>\nby Robert Frost<\/p>\n<p>O Hushed October morning mild,<br \/>\nThy leaves have ripened to the fall;<br \/>\nTomorrow\u2019s wind, if it be wild,<br \/>\nShould waste them all.<br \/>\nThe crows above the forest call;<br \/>\nTomorrow they may form and go.<br \/>\nO hushed October morning mild,<br \/>\nBegin the hours of this day slow.<br \/>\nMake the day seem to us less brief.<br \/>\nHearts not adverse to being beguiled,<br \/>\nBeguile us in the way you know.<br \/>\nRelease one leaf at break of day;<br \/>\nAt noon release another leaf;<br \/>\nOne from our trees, one far away.<br \/>\nRetard the sun with gentle mist;<br \/>\nEnchant the land with amethyst.<br \/>\nSlow, slow!<br \/>\nFor the grapes\u2019 sake, if they were
