{"id":4292,"date":"2009-03-19T08:38:31","date_gmt":"2009-03-19T13:38:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/law.marquette.edu\/facultyblog\/?p=4292"},"modified":"2009-03-19T10:25:16","modified_gmt":"2009-03-19T15:25:16","slug":"professor-schneider-receives-the-women-in-the-law-2009-award-by-the-wisconsin-journal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/law.marquette.edu\/facultyblog\/2009\/03\/professor-schneider-receives-the-women-in-the-law-2009-award-by-the-wisconsin-journal\/","title":{"rendered":"Professor Schneider Receives the Women in the Law 2009 Award by the Wisconsin Law Journal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/law.marquette.edu\/facultyblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/andreaschneider.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4293\" src=\"http:\/\/law.marquette.edu\/facultyblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/andreaschneider.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"160\" height=\"240\" \/><\/a> A few weeks ago, the <a href=\"http:\/\/http:\/\/www.wislawjournal.com\/article.cfm\/2009\/02\/16\/Women-in-the-Law-Photos\"><em>Wisconsin Law Journal<\/em> <\/a>awarded my colleague <a href=\"http:\/\/http:\/\/law.marquette.edu\/cgi-bin\/site.pl?10905&amp;userID=78\">Andrea Kupfer Schneider <\/a>the prestigious Women in the Law Award for 2009.\u00a0 Professor Schneider was one of 21 outstanding women who were selected this year\u00a0by the <em>Journal <\/em>for their\u00a0work\u00a0<span class=\"content\">with Wisconsin\u2019s legal community.\u00a0\u00a0In its <a href=\"http:\/\/http:\/\/www.wislawjournal.com\/article.cfm\/2009\/02\/16\/Grandfathers-Main-Street-practice-fueled-interest\">tribute<\/a> to Professor Schneider, the <em>Journal<\/em> traces her passion for the law back to her grandfather&#8217;s practice, and describes her\u00a0love for Marquette Law School and our first-class Alternative Dispute Resolution Program. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"content\">As a woman in the law, I am thrilled with Professor Schneider&#8217;s award! Nobody more than Andrea Schneider deserves this recognition for her tireless work,\u00a0service, and leadership\u00a0at Marquette University Law School and in so many other institutional and noninstitutional organizations.\u00a0\u00a0 Since I\u00a0have known Andrea Schneider, she has been\u00a0a primary source of inspiration and example, and I know she is a guide and example for all of our students and colleagues.\u00a0 I admire Professor Schneider as a teacher,\u00a0a great scholar, and\u00a0one of the most\u00a0outstanding\u00a0leaders in committees and programs\u00a0I have ever met in my career. <\/span><span class=\"content\">As\u00a0a mother,\u00a0I\u00a0also tremendously admire Andrea Schneider&#8217;s ability to balance work and family, multitask,\u00a0and get everything done, always\u00a0impeccably. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"content\">Congratulations again, Professor Schneider, and thanks so much for the wonderful role model you are for all of us women in the
