Athletes in many individual sports are in need of the support of the legal community as they advocate for good governance, a bigger share of the financial benefits they bring to their sports organizations and the right to speak up and have their opinions and requests respected. My presentation will highlight some recent issues that have motivated athletes to activism. It will also explore how the legal community can support these under-represented athletes in their advocacy and to better understand their "rights".
