2019-2020 Intramural Sports Law Negotiation Competition: Final Round

On Wednesday, November 13, 2020, Marquette's Sports Law Competition Board will host the final round of the 2019-2020 Marquette Intramural Sports Law Negotiation Competition the final event celebrating the 30th anniversary of the creation of the National Sports Law Institute. The competition will run from 5:10 pm until @6:30 pm in room 144.   A reception will follow in the Zilber Forum.  Only those attending the competition may attend the reception.

The final round will feature semifinalist teams of 2Ls Emily Pratt and Xander Landy vs. Amanda Bethel and Charles Twohy, who survived the initial rounds on November 2nd.  The competition will focus on a contract between a esports team in a major esports league, and an up and coming player before a panel of

  • Molly Madonia (L'16), staff Attorney, Milwaukee World Festival, Inc.,
  • Roger Quiles, esports and sports attorney with Quiles Law, Staten Island, New York,
  • Meghan Pirics (L'16), Legal Associate, Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club, and
  • Ashley Sinclair (L’15), an Associate and Business Lawyer with Foley and Lardner LLP

The winner of the 2019-2020 Intramural Sports Law Negotiation Competition will receive an invitation to participate in a national sports law competition during the 2020-2021 academic year. Information on all national competitions can be found online here.
