DRS/CSB Hosts: Benevolent Interventionist — John Harens

Dispute Resolution Society and the Client Skills Board are proud to present a conversation with Attorney John Harens. Mr. Harens spent twenty years as a civil litigator finally realizing his true passion dispute resolution and mediation. In 1994 the Minnesota Supreme Court "grandfathered" Mr. Harens into the first pool of ADR neutrals after mediating over 100 disputes as Chairman of the ADR Panel for Minnesota's Ramsey County District Court. Currently, Mr. Harens' practice is devoted to resolving large complex civil litigation cases, with a special emphasis on multiparty cases.

This virtual discussion of reality will be conducted by Oniquca Wright (3L) and David Princeton (0.5L) covering Mr. Harens discovery of his passion for ADR, explore the diversity of cases he has mediated, where he sees the present and future of dispute resolution, and we will dig deeper into his methods and mindset when dealing with parties.

Mr. Harens CV can be found here as well as a link to his website here

Q&A will follow the discussion and participants are encouraged to email your questions in advance to david.princeton@marquette.edu.
