Federalist Society Presents Ramesh Ponnuru and Professor Oldfather

The 2nd event will be October 22nd and will feature Bloomberg opinion writer and conservative legal analyst Ramesh Ponnuru and MULS constitutional law professor Chad Oldfather. Ramesh will be discussing the changes in the federal judiciary under President Trump and how this has affected (or not affected) recent rulings from the Supreme Court. For an overview of Ramesh's writings on this topic, I'd direct you to an article he wrote earlier this summer about the transformation of the Supreme Court under President Trump and Chief Justice John Roberts' increasing influence on the court when it comes to high profile cases. Prof. Oldfather will be providing a response to Ramesh's talk that I think will spur some interesting conversations about what it means to be a textualist jurist in this era.
