Retired General James Jones, former National Security Advisor to President Obama, former Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps, former Supreme Allied Commander for NATO

The recipient of the Silver Star, Bronze Star and numerous other medals and honors, Gen. Jones has a distinguished record of service that spans more than 40 years. He joined the Obama Administration in January of 2009 and served as National Security Advisor through November of 2010. Today, Gen. Jones is the head of Jones Group International,  a firm that provides expertise on national security, foreign policy and energy security issues.  Jones has consulted for the American Petroleum Institute and is helping to make the case for the Keystone XL Pipeline through Montana, South Dakota and Nebraska. During his visit to the Law School, Gen. Jones will discuss the controversial Keystone project and American energy policy in general. He will also offer his perspective on geopolitical developments around the world.
