Employers that wish to participate in the Marquette University Law School Fall Recruitment Program or Spring Recruitment Program, but choose not to interview students in person at Eckstein Hall can elect one of three Non-visiting Recruiting Options: Non-Visiting Collection, Direct Mail, and Video/Virtual Interviewing.
- Non-Visiting Collection is for employers that prefer to conduct all stages of their interview process at their places of business but request that the Career Planning Center collect on their behalf the application materials of students interested in a position with their organization. These employers are commonly referred to as "Resume Collects" or "Collect employers". Resume Collects are listed on Symplicity under the "OCI" tab on the top menu bar. For Resume Collects, in the "Interview Dates" column it states "N/A (Resume Collection)". The application process on Symplicity for Resume Collects is the same as the application process for OCI employers.
- Direct Mail is the recruiting option chosen by employers that wish to be contacted directly by students (these employers are referred to as "Directs"). In almost all cases, a cover letter is required for Directs. Although a number of employers specifically request that Marquette students send their application materials directly to the employer (these employers are listed on Symplicity under the "jobs" tab or, in a few cases, under the "OCI" tab as a "Direct Send"), essentially all legal employers that do not interview on campus at Marquette and that have not asked CPC to collect application materials can be treated as Directs.
- Video/Virtual Interviewing is available for employers that choose to remotely interview Marquette students via a virtual meeting/interviewing platform of their choice, e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom, GoToMeeting, Spark Hire, Skype.
