Digital vs. Print Textbooks
Before ordering a digital textbook for a course, please first check with your professor's syllabus, course page, or communications to ensure that an e-book is permitted for the course. Again, if you would like to order an e-book for your classes, please first confirm that your professor permits the use of a digital text in the class. Many professors will explicitly prohibit the use of an e-book, as some e-books cannot be accessed during open-book exams.
Specific textbook information is available through the Book Marq, Marquette University's official bookstore.
- When entering your courses in the Book Store's search function, please select "Law Fall 2025" as the correct term.
- You can locate your course and section numbers by signing in to CheckMarq and reviewing your fall 2025 course schedule.
- Please note your specific course section as textbooks for the same course will vary across sections.
- If purchasing textbooks through vendors other than the Book Marq, please also pay close attention to the edition of the text required by your specific professor. The ISBN number should correlate with the correct edition.
All students are expected to have their textbooks in advance of the start of the semester so they can complete first-day reading assignments. If a textbook is sold out at the bookstore, please contact your professor to make alternative arrangements.
