Nominations Now Open for Student Bar Association 1L Representatives

1L Class Representative Positions 

Do you want to help build community at the Law School? Do you want to help plan and put on events for your peers? If so, petitions for Marquette Law School SBA 1L class representative positions are now available! There are four 1L Class Representative positions available. Please reach out to any SBA member for additional information about the positions.  

Two items are required to stand for office and both are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, September 4: 

  • Petition Form 
    • Petition forms will be available in the Student Org Suite (336L) on the third floor. 
    • All you need is 25 signatures to stand for office.  
    • All signatures must be from students currently enrolled at MULS.  
    • Students may sign a petition form for multiple candidates. 
    • Please submit your petition form to the Office of Student Affairs (238) before the deadline.  
  • Personal Statement 
    • Please draft a brief personal statement explaining who you are and why you are running.  
    • Keep it to 250 words or less.  
    • This statement will be shared with the entire class as part of the ballot.  
    • Personal statements should be submitted digitally as a Word document to Matthew Trecek (matthew.trecek@marquette.edu), SBA secretary, by the deadline.  

The ballot and voting will be open and available on September 9 and 10 via Law News. Winners will be announced the following week in Law News.
