Imposter Syndrome and Social Media: Building a Healthier Relationship
This presentation explores imposter syndrome and the impact of social media on college and graduate students’ mental health, with a focus on comparison and self-doubt. Participants will learn how curated online spaces reinforce unrealistic standards and gain practical strategies to challenge imposter thoughts, reduce comparison, and build healthier, more intentional social media use. The session also offers tools and language to support students navigating mental health in today’s digital world.
This event is both online and in-person at the Weasler Auditorium at Marquette University. Attendees will be entered in a raffle to win gift cards!
The presentation will be given by Melissa Schneider, MA, LPC, CIR from the MU Counseling Center. MU Counseling Center and the MU College of Nursing will be co-sponsoring with the units of the new Wellness + Helfaer Recreation Center for Eating Disorder Awareness Week.
