Spring Break Pro Bono Opportunities
In addition to the Wills for Tribal Members event noted elsewhere in this issue of Law News, several pro bono opportunities are available for students--even if you have not been involved before!
The Eviction Defense Project is welcoming new and experienced students during spring break. All three shifts are required for new students, and a hope that you can continue with a weekly commitment throuhg out the rest of the semester. This project runs on Monday 3/9, Wednesday 3/11, and Friday 3/13 from 12:30-3PM at the Milwaukee County Courthouse.
The Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinics are also welcoming both new and experienced students during spring break. Plan to attend at least three of the four clinics running during break and consider taking on a weekly or every-other-week commitment for the rest of the semester. MVLCs will run on Tuesday 3/10 12:45-3 p.m., Wednesday 3/11 4:45-7 p.m., Thursday 3/12 8:45-11 a.m. and 11:15-1:30 p.m.
Finally, the Milwaukee Justice Center's family law forms clinic is welcoming students with experience in the forms clinic to join any or all shifts running during spring break: Monday 8:30-12 and/or 1-4, Tuesday 1-4, Wednesday 8:30-12, Thursday 1-4, and Friday 8:30-12.
To add any pro bono shifts to your schedule, email OPS with the shifts you'd like to take and we'll make sure you have everything you need to be successful with the project.
