Rent Abatement: Understanding tenants’ rights to habitable housing in Milwaukee

- Josh Kather attended University of Wisconsin – Madison for undergrad followed by a year of AmeriCorps as a Volunteer Coordinator for a chain of Milwaukee Food pantries. Josh graduated from Marquette University Law School in May 2023 and has practiced landlord-tenant law at the Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee on the housing team ever since.
- Mitchell Yurkowitz is an attorney with the Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2021. He has over four years of experience representing tenants in eviction cases.
This free CLE series provides volunteers with in-depth information on some of the most commonly seen issues at the Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinics (MVLC). These events are a great way to earn additional pro bono hours or CLE credit while enhancing your knowledge of the legal issues faced by clients of the MVLC. Student attendees will earn one hour of pro bono time by attending the MVLC Volunteer CLE Series and attorney attendees will earn one hour of CLE credit.
