The Summer Public Interest Law Experience
Join Dean Schultz, Professor Kearney, and Director Ascorbe, for a presentation and conversation about the summer public interest law experience. Public interest law practice is vast, captures many types of practice (such as legal aid, government service, public defense and prosecution, policy work, and impact litigation), and often provides students with deep learning opportunities including direct client interaction, exposure to systemic issues affecting underserved communities, and the chance to develop practical skills while advancing justice.
Topics explored will include:
- Public Interest Law Society (PILS) Fellowships,
- Public interest internship opportunities for academic credit,
- Pro bono work,
- Public interest interview programs,
- Additional Career Planning support, and more.
No registration is required. Lunch will be provided.
