Please take note of the following additions and updates to the fall 2026 schedule:
Schedule Change:

New Course Additions -- REGISTER THIS AFTERNOON:
- Business Planning Workshop* – Adjunct Professor of Law Sam Tahmassebi - Monday and Wednesday, 10:30 - 11:45 a.m.
- Course Description: Examines legal and business issues lawyers face in representing a business organization in its early stages of development. Topics covered include (1) selecting the appropriate organizational form for the start-up business, (2) addressing control issues and the particular concerns associated with having minority owners, (3) financing the start-up business, (4) compensating employees, including through stock and stock options, (5) giving equity investors exit rights, and (6) addressing common ethical issues lawyers face in representing start-ups. The course not only examines these principles and the theories behind them, but also studies how they function in practice, through the lens of hypothetical business transactions.
- Prerequisites: Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research 1 and 2; Business Associations (may be taken concurrently)
- Methods of Evaluation: Paper(s), Presentation(s), Project(s), Simulation(s)
- Trial Advocacy I Workshop* – Adjunct Professor of Law Dan Vaccaro - Wednesday, 5:00 - 7:55 p.m.*
- Course Description: This workshop introduces students to the fundamental skills required of trial lawyers, including formulation of a case theory, jury selection, opening statements, direct and cross-examination, and closing argument. Students will engage in simulated practice exercises and the course concludes with a mock trial.
- Prerequisites: Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research 1 and 2; Civil Procedure; Evidence (may be taken concurrently)
- Methods of Evaluation: Participation, Presentation(s), Simulations
*Registration Information for New Course Additions: Registration for the two new course additions will open TODAY, Monday, April 27, by class year:
- Rising 3L students may register for these courses beginning TODAY at 4:00 p.m.
- Rising 2L students may register for these courses beginning TODAY at 4:30 p.m.
Waitlists will be available for both courses should they reach capacity. Please note that any rising 2L student who registers before 4:30 p.m. will be removed from the course and must re-enroll at the appropriate time.
