Five Tech Tips for Final Exams

If you have an Examplify exam in your future, please review the following five tips and take necessary action before exam day. Students are welcome to stop by suite 218 for assistance.

  1. Run Computer Updates. Well in advance of exam day, please make sure your computer is fully up to date and that all operating system updates have been installed. Out-of-date operating systems can cause delays and issues.
  2. Open Examplify to Confirm it Is Working Correctly, You Know Your Password, and All Exams Appear. Confirm that Examplify is installed correctly and that you can see your upcoming exams within the program.
    • If your professor has confirmed you will be using Examplify, you should see your exam in the left-hand exam list.
    • If you do not see your exam in that list, please stop by Eckstein Hall, Room 218; the Media & Technology Team will be happy to assist you with troubleshooting.
  3. Take Practice Exams. You are strongly encouraged to take as many practice exams as needed until you feel comfortable using the software. Descriptions of available practice exams and their passwords can be found on the Law School’s website.
  4. Reboot Before Exam Day. Please reboot your computer the night before your exam,or at least two hours before your exam start time.
    • Note: Closing and reopening your laptop lid is not the same as rebooting. Rebooting helps ensure your computer runs at optimal performance.
  5. Close Unnecessary Applications. Before starting your exam, please close any unnecessary applications, such as Microsoft Teams, Spotify, Steam, or any other application that is not necessary for exams. Having many open programs may cause delays when it’s time to upload your exam.

While these steps are strongly recommended as precautions, please know that we will make every effort to ensure you are able to successfully use your computer for your exam. For more information and a full FAQ, please visit the Law School’s exam website.
