The gaps in long-term school success between low-income children and higher-income children are, in large part, present the day kids start kindergarten. What could be effective in reducing the disadvantages that arise in early childhood? A half-day conference at Marquette University will provide insight from national experts and from people trying to improve the situation in Milwaukee. Speakers will include Dana Suskind, M.D., Co-director of the TMW Center for Early Learning + Public Health at the University of Chicago and Katherine Magnuson, Ph.D., director of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Institute for Research on Poverty and an expert on the impact of poverty on children.
Please join us for this opportunity to focus on one of Milwaukee’s biggest needs.
