Join us as we celebrate future Marquette lawyers in an event that includes a conversation between the Pro Bono Institute’s Eve Runyon and the Law School’s Mike Gousha.
This annual event honors Marquette University Law School students who have performed 50 or more hours of pro bono service. These hours are entirely voluntary; the students receive neither monetary compensation nor academic credit.

Eve Runyon has served as the president and CEO of Pro Bono Institute, based in Washington, D.C., since 2016. PBI works with law firms and companies in the United States and around the globe to expand the provision of pro bono legal services. Runyon’s work has included testimony and appearances across the country, from the Conference of Chief Justices to (closer to Marquette’s home) the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Runyon first joined PBI in 2005 as director of Corporate Pro Bono, a project with the Association of Corporate Counsel to enhance in-house pro bono. She previously worked as a lawyer at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in Washington, D.C. Runyon graduated from the University of Virginia and Yale Law School.
