Please join us on October 11 to continue our new series at Marquette Law School’s Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education: “Get to Know.” Derek Mosley, director of the Lubar Center, will welcome Jackie Q. Carter, director of the Port of Milwaukee.

Carter made history earlier this year by being the first woman and person of color to hold the director position. Most recently, she was the finance and administration officer for the Port, overseeing business, human resources, and administrative operations. The Port of Milwaukee includes 400 acres where shipping, rail, and over-the-road transportation moves goods, services, and people through the region. The Port of Milwaukee is bigger than Chicago’s Port and is vital to our economy. It’s our doorway to an exotic, international marketplace.

The “Get to Know” series, as Director Mosley has remarked, is intended to be “more late-night talk show than Meet the Press.” The program will begin promptly at 12:15 p.m. The program will include lunch, conversation, and community in Eckstein Hall.
