Please join us on January 19 for “On the Issues: Museum and Arts Funding in Wisconsin.”

We will kick off Milwaukee Museum Days by discussing the opportunities available in our area. Several guests will join Lubar Center Director Derek Mosley for a conversation about Milwaukee Museum Days and the state of funding for museums and the arts in Wisconsin. Panelists include Adam Braatz, executive director of Imagine MKE; Ellen Censky, president/CEO of the Milwaukee Public Museum; Clayborn Benson, executive director of Wisconsin Black Historical Society; Laurie Winters, executive director/CEO of the Museum of Wisconsin Art; Polly Morris, executive director of the Lynden Sculpture Garden; Marcela Garcia, executive director of the Walker’s Point Center for the Arts; and Rob Henken, president of the Wisconsin Policy Forum.

How can we bring more attention to the numerous museums in the city? What exciting things are happening during the ten-day festival and the coming months that the community should know? Wisconsin continues to be last in the nation in funding for the arts. Given the $10.8 billion impact, how can we stress the importance of supporting and growing the institutions that improve the quality of life in our state?
