Get to Know: Peggy Williams-Smith

Please join us on January 30 as we continue the series at Marquette Law School’s Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education: “Get to Know.” Derek Mosley, director of the Lubar Center, will welcome Peggy Williams-Smith, president/CEO of VISIT Milwaukee. 

Williams-Smith has been with Visit Milwaukee since 2019 as the organization’s first female president/CEO. In 2022, she was named Milwaukee Business Journal’s Executive of the Year. According to data from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism, the Greater Milwaukee area set its all-time tourism record with a $6.018 billion economic impact in 2022. From events such as the USA Triathlon National Championships to cruise ships docking in the harbor to the coming Republican National Convention, Milwaukee’s star is rising as a place to visit.  

As Director Mosley has explained, the “Get to Know” series is intended to be “more late-night talk show than ‘Meet the Press.’” The program will begin promptly at 12:15 p.m. and last an hour.
