On Friday, April 19th, 2024, the Sports Law Program will host the final spring event celebrating the 35th anniversary of the creation of the National Sports Law Institute, and its Annual Awards Ceremony.  The night will begin in the Lubar Center at 5:30 pm with a short presentation on the creation of the Institute featuring Professor Jim Gray, class of 1990, Sport & Recreation Management Program Director, Marian University, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. After that we will move to the Forum to take a 35th anniversary picture like our 30th anniversary picture below

At @ 6pm we will move to Tory Hill Café for a reception 

At @7:15 pm we will move back into the Lubar Center to

  • recognize the 2024 winners of various student awards and writing competitions,
  • thank the 2024 leaders of our Sports Law Society, Peer-to-Peer Network, Student/Alumni Outreach Committee, Sports Law Competition Board and members of the intramural and national teams, and Marquette Sports Law Review, while also introducing the new student leaders for each group,
  • recognize our 2024 Sports Law Certificate class,
  • thank the alumni, donors and supporters who provide financial support, coaching and judging guidance, and review of candidates for our teams and awards, and
  • recognize the winner of our 2024 Charles W. Mentkowski Sports Law Alumnus of the Year Award
