His areas of expertise include constitutional law, education law and policy, and diversity in the legal profession.

Justice Liu continues to teach constitutional law as a visiting professor at Harvard Law School. He is an elected member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Law Institute. He has previously served on the Board of Trustees of Stanford University, the California Commission on Access to Justice, and the governing boards of the American Constitution Society, the National Women’s Law Center, and the Public Welfare Foundation.

This event honors Marquette University Law School students who have performed 50 or more hours of pro bono service. These hours are entirely voluntary; the students receive neither monetary compensation nor academic credit. The event also remembers Gene Posner, L ’36, and celebrates the generosity of the Gene and Ruth Posner Foundation in supporting the Law School’s public service work.
