This ceremony marks the completion of the naturalization process, and the new citizens shared the moment with family and friends, along with law students and faculty. Magistrate Judge Nancy Joseph of the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Wisconsin presided over the ceremony and administered the Oath of Allegiance. Prior to conferring citizenship, Joseph sat down for an interview with Mike Gousha, distinguished fellow in law and public policy at Marquette Law School, to share the story of her own journey to citizenship, which began in Haiti and led to her naturalization at age 18.
