Some call it meaningful reform. Others call it a power grab. Co-sponsored by the Law School and the Milwaukee Press Club, this event will focus on a controversial proposal now before the state legislature. Should Milwaukee County Supervisors be part-time, their salaries cut and their oversight limited? Or would such changes go too far, leaving too much power in the hands of the County Executive, and ignoring the argument of local control? Joining us will be the author of the legislation, State Rep. Joe Sanfelippo (R-West Allis), who recently served on the County Board, and Board Chairwoman Marina Dimitrijevic, who opposes the bill. 12:15 to 1:15 p.m., Marquette Law School, Eckstein Hall.
