Hon. James A. Wynn, Jr., U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit—Judge Wynn is a Marquette Law School graduate, who currently serves as a federal appeals court judge in North Carolina. Nominated to the Court by President Obama in November of 2009, Judge Wynn previously served on the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of North Carolina. Prior to taking the bench in 1990, he served as a public defender and worked in private practice. Judge Wynn has also served as a certified Military Trial Judge and a Captain in the U.S. Navy Reserves, and has received numerous medals and commendations. He began his law career in the U.S. Navy JAG Corps in 1979. Judge Wynn will discuss his distinguished career during this visit to Eckstein Hall as the Law School’s Nathan A.
