Biography

Dean Thomson serves as Associate Dean for Administration and Registrar at the Law School.  Her responsibilities include student counseling, registration and records, and course scheduling.  Working closely with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, the Assistant Dean for Students, and the entire student affairs staff, her goal is to make the non-academic part of the students' educational experience as seamless and supportive as possible.

Dean Thomson has been part of the Law School administration since 1985, serving as Placement Director, and Assistant Dean for Students before assuming her current position.  Prior to joining the Law School administration, Dean Thomson served as Student Services Assistant for the University of Michigan Law School, and as Placement Specialist for the Milwaukee Area Technical College.  Dean Thomson holds an A.B. in English from the University of Michigan, and an M.S. in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Dean Thomson has a very hairy white German Shepherd, and a very hairy black German Shepherd (both are rescue dogs) and students who wish to share dog stories will always find a willing ear - if they are willing to ignore a little dog hair here and there.
